This week is...

National MS Awareness Week.

Are you aware that 400,000 Americans have MS? (This number is an estimate because Dr's are not required to report new diagnoses)

Are you aware that 2.1 million people worldwide have MS. (Well I'm assuming this number is only those diagnosed.)

Are you aware that two to three times more women have MS than men?

Are you aware that MS is an autoimmune disease that turns your own body against you?

Are you aware that MS is a disease of the myelin in the central nervous system?

Are you aware that in the general population your chance of getting MS is 1/750?

Are you aware that if you have someone in your family that has MS your risk jumps to 1/40?

Are you aware that there is a new FDA approved drug that "modifies" and slows down MS?

I know I am.
