So Happy!

I can't really explain to yall what I'm feeling... but I'm going to do my best to try.
I should be stressed... I'm taking 5 classes, doing practicum, working, planning my wedding, about to enter the work world in a horrible economy.
But I'm not. I'm oh so happy.

William and I finally figured each other out I think. We are so happy with each other right now. Despite our uncertainties about the future, we are finally on the upside of the engagement blues and realizing that we have so many good times ahead of us. We genuinely make each other smile and can talk about anything. We get why we misunderstand each other. Which eventually will lead to less misunderstandings I hope. We are ready and so excited about getting married.

I'm also very relaxed about this semester and our planning. I'm excited about my practicum. I'm working with kids with cochlear implants that were just turned on. So they have newborn hearing. I mean the magnitude of that is just amazing. They literally heard their first sounds ever just over a week ago. AWESOME. I'm also going to be doing assessments with my supervisor. They are mostly follow up assessments, but will be really good experience. Wedding planning... It's going well. I feel like I should be done. And I am mostly. But there are some things that you just can't do until a certain point.

I had dinner with my future sister-in-law Amy tonight. She is so great! I know I'm very lucky! I love how she is always so encouraging. She very positive. And despite the fact that she is older (and probably wiser), prettier, skinnier than me she always make me feel so good about myself. I really wish that we were going to be able to live near to each other... however... welcome to life in the military! Oh well... we will make the best of that!

Cabo

We got back on Wednesday from Cabo. It was a lot of fun, interesting, but fun.
The scenery was great (a much needed break from the views of many Texas highways recently). We stayed at Riu Santa Fe in Cabo, which is an all inclusive resort. It was a really great place to stay. Alcohol, food, sodas, room, pools, views, all included. We went on a couple of "excursions" while we were there. The first was ATVing on the beach, sand dunes, and dessert. It was fun. However, I took a leap of faith (near death) and dove off my ATV when I thought that it may be tipping over on me. It was super scary, but I survived with some minor to medium bruises, scrapes, and aches. Basically my right side looked like I had been gnawed on by the ground. The injuries were fine the first day, but the second day I definitely felt it. The next day we went snorkeling. It was a lot of fun! We got a great deal and we didn't even know it at the time. We rode on a speed boat and visited the Arch of Cabo (a famous landmark), Lover's and Divorce beaches, Santa Maria Bay and Chileno Bay and then the beach in Cabo where we ate a provided lunch which was muy authentic y bueno! The snorkeling was great. We saw a ton. I only snorkeled in one of the spots because the salt water burned my road rash like crazy. We also went parasailing which was amazing! Otherwise, we just layed near or in the pool. I did a bunch of reading which was great! And now... back to school!

This semester I'm taking 5 classes and doing a practicum with toddlers with cochlear implants.
My classes are going to be interesting I hope:
Craniofacial Disorders (think Cleft Palates and such)
Seminar on Autism
Neurogenic Communication Disorders II (geriatric population)
Dyslexia and Learning Disorders
and Voice Disorders!

Whoo hoo!

Okay so here is a look at our trip in pictures!

I've been slacking!

So it's been a while since I have written. I'm sorry... forgive me?
I guess life has just been a little crazy. The last time I wrote was right before our week long wedding planning event. Here's the run down of what happened:
Monday: Went to the florist with Dana and my Mom. We picked out all the specifics which are going to be amazing! Then we had lunch at Kim Son (yum) and I went to help Dana unpack. William and I went to dinner with his parents at Escalante's to check on everything for the rehearsal dinner!

Tuesday: We went shopping for fabric for Shelby's flower girl dress. 5 stores and 6 hours later we finally found some amazing fabrics! William and I got together later that night to talk about specifics for the ceremony.

Wednesday: We got up and went shopping for William's tux. We ended up buying it later that night at Bachrach in the Galleria. We also bought a tie for Zachary.

Thursday: This was by far the marathon day. We got up and went to pre-marriage counseling. Then from there we drove straight to the Courtyard for our tasting. It was really yummy. We ended up changing the type of menu, deciding on the specifics and adding 30 minutes on to the reception. Then the DJ met us at the Courtyard and we went straight into planning everything out for the reception timeline. We picked all our "songs" and all that good stuff! Then William dropped me off at the dermatologist where I got some much needed relief for my wedding induced breakouts! I made some calls while waiting for William to pick me back up and then we headed to pack up for our trip. We packed up and went to Nana and Popi's house for dinner with William's Aunt Sis who was in town from Maryland!

Friday: We got up at 5am and drove to Dallas to catch our flight to Cabo San Lucas!

See next post for vacation pictures!

Purple Inspiration

So here is the inspiration board that I'm taking to my florist next Monday. I'm pretty proud of it. I'm also super excited about my bouquet and how everything is going to come together.
