Well we are just waiting.
Waiting for William's start date with Halliburton.
Waiting for my job offer.

Anyways when I have more to update on... I'll update you... but posting my be scarce due to studying of the next couple of weeks!

Things I Accomplished Today

  • Went to the grocery store and bought lots of yummy food for this week!
  • Went to Michael's to buy some stuff for my great-grand littles in Phi Lamb
  • Made personalized notecards for said littles
  • Wrote the rest of our thank you notes
  • Did two assignments for school
  • Cooked a delicious dinner
  • Started getting wedding photos burned onto discs for family
But.... I didn't study for COMPS! Whoops... oh well. At least I got lots of other things done!

I can be defined as:

done, finished, burnt out, tired, exhausted, worn out, drained, weary, overworked, worn down, beat, spent

I need to learn to say no. I need to learn when to say when. I need to take my medication more regularly. I need to have less to do. I need to graduate.

I'm melting, I'm melting!

Okay fine it's a lie... I'm not melting... but if you walk outside you may think it's raining. Okay fine it's not raining either... the SNOW is melting. Very sllooowwwlllyyyy. Still a ton on the ground! Tomorrow I'll post a picture of the snow dinosaur we found on the way to the grocery store (William had cabin fever bad). Everyone knows I'm a sucker for dinosaurs. And now I'm a sucker for snow. I think I just missed my snow boots. They are great. I just throw them on and can walk through anything! Snow, slush, melted snow, brown snow, yellow snow, dirt, water, dirt and water, mud, okay... you get the picture! I told William we should move somewhere where it snows all the time. He gave me the die-a-thousand-deaths look! Whoops. Anyways, I love snow boots. And as long as it's not that cold like right now then I'm good with it!

Okay off to bed... William isn't tired. But I am.

I'm taking donations...

I'm in love with this! It doesn't help that my little point and shoot is falling apart at the seems... it's the first camera I've owned more than a year... impressive for me and my track record!

Update on the Snow!

There is a lot of snow. We officially have broken all records for Dallas. We received 11.2 inches on Thursday February 11, 2010 and over 12.5 inches over a period of 24 hours, from 4am on Thursday to 4am on Friday.

Apparently lots of people are without power... but thankfully ours is STILL on. They are saying it could take several days for this to melt. It will likely freeze up some tonight again.

Here are pictures of the new "damage".

Here are some videos of Lucy in the snow. I'm not sure what she thinks of it. She kind of acts like she likes it, but is shivering constantly.

Um yea... it's snowing.

I'm not sure you heard... but it's snowing in Dallas. Quite a bit. Um actually it's on record as the most snow in Dallas ever on one day. And this day isn't over yet. Not for three more hours. Insane.

After I finally got home today... Oh wait did I forget to mention that none of the schools closed today, because by the time they realized how much it was snowing school was already going on. I mean last night our part of Dallas wasn't even in the snow zone... just sleet. Then at 6:30am they were predicting 1-2" of snow for us. And here we are at 8.7". SERIOUSLY ALMOST 9 INCHES.
Anyways, after I got home around 4pm, I called up Jonna and her husband Bryan and Christine and asked if they wanted to come play in the snow with us. Yea. They did. I mean wouldn't everyone want to?

So we hit the streets. Well the grassy areas. We made snow balls, played with some neighborhood kids, and the boys acted like idiots that have never seen snow. Yea, you heard me. William and Bryan decided they wanted to sled. Well we didn't exactly have a sled on hand... so they found a card board box and started trying to sled down the hill on the box. Well they are big boys and that didn't exactly work. So they decided just to barrel roll down the hill in the snow. Yep roll down a hill that ended in a creek. On their bare bodies. They are insane. Oh and Bryan ate some snow. Gross.

Anyways here are some pictures... and amusing videos! Enjoy!

Someone's snowman near my apartment... complete with feather!
Bryan attempting to sled on his stomach. This is one of many attempted sledding positions.
William attempting to sled.
Jonna in the snow!
Bryan playing with the neighborhood kids. Their mom was really happy that she didn't have to play with them!
Can you see what Bryan is doing? Eating snow!
This is how deep it was at 6pm... and it's been snowing since as well!
Making snowballs!
Lucy in the snow... NOT enjoying it.
Teeny in the snow!
Jonna after she fell down... whoops!
So this video is from right after Jonna hit Bryan in the face with a big snowball... he wanted her to apologize.

It was a ton of fun! Across the creek from us were a ton of dogs running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

In other news our lights keep flashing. William seems concerned that our food might go bad. I'm a tad bit concerned about the HEAT. IT'S 28 FREAKING DEGREES OUTSIDE! Duh William!

Anyways I can't wait to sleep in and spend the day getting work done with my hubby next to me! Good stuff!

jobs jobs jobs

So today I quite possibly got a job today. I say this only because I don't want to act totally sure and over confident. Then again, I'm pretty sure and definitely confident that I will be getting an offer before March 1st. The company is a small oral deaf school/clinic in the greater than Dallas area. They only have around 6  full time employees. They have a preschool program along with a caseload of regular therapy clients. They also do consulting work with kids who are now being served by the public schools.

Basically it's my dream job. With the exception of UTDallas (who hasn't gotten back to me since I sent my resume) there isn't a better place in the world for me. They even seem to be very liberal with how much they are willing to pay me! Whooo hooo!

I'll keep everyone posted! It's nice to know that a job is headed my way and that I don't have to worry anymore!

Flowers

Here are some shots of the flowers from our wedding! I was hoping for a deeper purple color overall... but these looked great despite that. The first picture is of the flowers hanging from our unity candle. Then the three bouquets: mine, the bridesmaids, and shelby's.
We had three center pieces. I loved them all!

In other news: I have an interview set up with the Hearing School of the Southwest on Monday at 10am! I'm super excited. They seem to be a growing program and I feel like I'm quite good with jumping in on something like that and helping make change! As long as their "funds" are somewhat competitive I think it would be a great place to start!

I'm so happy!

I took a shot in the dark today and sent an email to a deaf education program about hiring me on as a CFY. They didn't have any posted job listings... but I went for it anyways.
Needless to say, I got a VERY POSITIVE response. I will be meeting with them in the next few days!
William is incredibly annoyed at my happiness... haha oh well!
