The Eve of the 4th "Snow" Day

It is the eve of the 4th "snow" day for North Texas.  It seems insane... but I ventured out in it today and it seems necessary.  It's too much of a liability for the school districts.  One injury/death would make going to school completely trivial.  The roads are "passible" but the sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots are not.  I watched a tiny old man cross a parking lot today and feared I would be calling 911. He made it across... Thank the Lord!

So far Jonna and I (oh, sorry, did I forget to mention I purposefully iced myself in with Jonna.  She lives blocks from my school so I knew I could get there if I had to... but mostly just so we could hang out) have watched tv, played on the computer, watched more tv, played outside, cooked, eaten, baked, watched tv, checked for weather closings, slept, slept, slept... You get the picture.

We did make two trips out today.  This required me to put a lot of trust in my car, my car driving abilities, the ice skating rink that was Jonna's driveway, and my car insurance.  I made it out of the driveway with only minor slippage... then around the block to the front of the house.  We went to Kroger's because we were running out of food.  Here is what we bought: cheese (for nachos and pizza), flour (for brownies and pizza), smores fixings, cookie dough, coke zero.  Something about this weather makes us want to eat nothing but junk! We also bought Lucy some more food and stopped for lunch at a local Italian joint.

Hopefully tomorrow the 29 degree weather will melt some of this.  I am weary though... as we have snow in the forecast for 4 of the next 8 days.  If there are any hopes of us going anywhere someone better find some snow plows and ice melting chemicals quick.
