2009: In a nutshell!

Well 2009 was a very eventful year! Here is a recap!
In January I started graduate school at UTDallas. I began my first practicum experience in the Early CLASS program where I worked one on one with a child with autism. My first week of school in Dallas it snowed... then froze. Two day of school were canceled but oh well!

I hung out a TON with my cousin Megan and her family... Look at how tiny Colin was when I first moved up to Dallas.

In February Megan's son Hayden turned 4 and Colton (my younger brother) and I helped Megan run his rodeo birthday party. It was quite exciting.

I also drove to Waco for Big Sister Reveal for my sorority. My little got TWINS! I love these girls and while I don't talk to them a ton... I think about them often!

In March, William and I were lucky enough to have the same spring break. We did some heavy duty wedding planning and also went to the Rodeo TWICE! We LOVE the RODEO! Hopefully in the future we can be on Rodeo committees and help my dad with the Rodeo cook-off!

William also turned 22 on March 25. We had to celebrate his birthday apart this year, but I called and ordered a bunch of pizza for the ChemE's to eat for lunch at school that day.

In April, William dunked his Aggie Ring! It was a great few days celebrating with friends!
I also finished up final for my first semester of graduate school!

May was a GREAT month! William finished his last semester in the Corps. He moved out of the dorms and had his FINAL review! It was bitter sweet watching his last pass across the review field, but it was kinda of exciting to not have to stay for the second pass (in which the corps marched with only 3 classes of cadets). After 4 LONG years in the corps we were ready for it to be over.

I also celebrated my birthday on May 19. My dad threw me a party on the 19th with lots of friends and family. Then, we went out for Fondue a few days later with my mom, brother, grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins! It was delicious.

My best friend Jonna got married on May 30. We had a ton of fun with them that weekend!

This June was the first summer that William and I took summer school. I tried on my dress for the first time after it was fitted. And my best friend's Nicole and Dana threw me a WONDERFUL bridal shower! It was Tuscany themed and it was a blast!

Kelly and Amy (my brother in law and future sister in law) got engaged in Costa Rica while Kelly was on leave. I'm quite excited to have a sister in my future!

July was a bit uneventful. We both were in school, traveling back in forth to see each other. We did go down to the bay for the 4th of July, but I don't have any pictures :( That kind of always happens when we are at the bay, because everyone is wet! Oh... I also survived a pilonidal cyst in July. My mom actually had to drive up from Houston to take care of me. So far, it hasn't popped up again. Thank the Lord!

In August, we both finished summer school and then took off to Cabo San Lucas with my dad! It was great! We spent lots of time by the pool and went parasailing and ATVing. I took a little spill off my ATV. It was scary but it was still fun!

We also started school again. My 3rd semester of graduate school and William's LAST semester of undergrad!

September was the month of SHOWERS! No not rain! Bridal showers. My paternal cousins and aunts threw me a China shower that was a tea party! It was so cute!

My maternal cousins and aunts threw me a shower! The cake was DELICIOUS!

William and I were so blessed to receive so many great things to help us start our new life together. We really won't make it through our marriage without all the wonderful things but most importantly the support from all our friends and family!

October obviously flew by... the month before the wedding was full of lots of trips to Houston to tie up lose ends of planning. One of the few times William and I were in Dallas together we went to the zoo for a little fun!

I continued to work at the Shippey's. (This may be the first mention of them on my blog. I nanny for their two wonderful children 10-20 hours a week.) Here are some pictures I took at the park of them! In October, William and I both got swine flu... and survived it.

Then came November... My friends and I celebrated the year coming to a close by going ice skating. Despite my extreme love for the sport, I sat this trip on the side line with Anne. I was a little afraid I would break an appendage and be in a cast for the wedding!

Then came the wedding week! Full of bachelorette party, rehearsal/dinner, and wedding! We then retreated back to Dallas.

It's hard to believe that December could have been more busy than November. But it was! We both took finals and then we moved William to Dallas. He graduated from Texas A&M with his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He commissioned into the United States Army.

Then, we took off to spend Christmas on our Vegas honeymoon! We just got back to Dallas in time to celebrate the new year!

It was one crazy year! And this decade was very eventful. I can't wait for 2010 and the next decade! Jobs, kids, houses, family... we can't wait to see what's to come!
