Good grief...

Is there such thing as "deployment hormones"? I feel pregnant again.  And I'm not.  I promise.  I checked... like 37 times.

Let's hope the random crying slows down soon. Folding laundry really doesn't need to be this sad.

Mobilization Ceremony

Tears were shed

"The bad dream will be over tomorrow right?"
"It's not a dream...."

I never wanted today to come. The horrible anticipation has been building up since February 28th...The day we found out this was happening.
But it came anyways. William and I both tossed and turned all night... reaching for each other under the covers every time we accidentally separated. We were both thinking the exact same thing. Only a few more hours... When it was time to get up to get ready I didn't want to.  I mean who would? But it was really all a numb blur.  It's crazy really how I functioned as well as I did this morning.  But I guess that's what being a parent will do to you. That, and the fact that I knew I couldn't keep the inevitable from happening.  I knew it would be hard saying goodbye.  Even if this time it is only supposed to be for 107ish days.  Nothing is a guarantee with the Army. I knew it would be harder watching him say goodbye to Levi. I was doing really well until I saw one of the other wives lose it as her husband said goodbye to their 4 year old and 3 month old.  That was the end of it for me... tears rolled. Levi was oblivious. But William made a point to stare into his little boys eyes and talk to him and tell him bye. We exchanged a kiss and a hug and got a few pictures... and then he got on the bus.

William had to get off the bus a few minutes later to give me the keys to the car... good thing they hadn't pulled out yet.  That would have been interesting.

Now that we are home I'm avoiding the basket of clean laundry - half William's.

Overall, I have to say today didn't feel like I thought it would.  It hurts so badly feeling this emptiness in our house, our bed, the garage and knowing that there won't be any unexpected trips to see each other.  But, I'm glad it's over with.  I'm ready to get on with it.  The deployment. The faster it gets started the faster it will be over with.

San Antonio, Texas!

We love this city. William and I would love to live there.
Who knows what will happen when William gets home...

22 weeks

Yesterday Levi turned 22 weeks old.  It was a crazy day and full of "hurry up and wait".  Levi has been doing great with our traveling.  However he has given us a run for our money a few times...
On Friday we tried to eat at Salt Lick for lunch but Levi was overtired and so he cried through the whole meal.  A bunch of tourists were there and I didn't want to ruin their experience so I kept hauling him outside.  As soon as we would get outside he would stop crying. So I would go back inside and sit down.  As soon as my butt hit the bench he was screaming again.  About the third time I just told William to get my food to go.  I ended up eating outside while William held Levi. Ugh.

Then on Sunday afternoon we were all watching the Olympics together.  Levi was on our hotel bed. William was sitting on a chair right next to the bed on one side of him and I was on the other.  We both looked away for a minute and Levi decided to practice his double barrel roll pommel horse dismount onto the floor.  He landed on his back and screamed for about 5 minutes before falling asleep.  It scared us all but Levi is fine and doesn't seem to hate us for letting him fall off a bed. Oh well... it was bound to happen once, right?

Levi has been eating 3 meals a day since I left Dallas.  He enjoys everything and so far has had no allergic reactions to anything except maybe sweet potatoes.  I'm considering trying them again soon.  He is still eating Similac Spit Up and it seems to work great! We are so glad that his spit up has been reduced! I'm certain he has gained a ton of weight but we won't know for a few more weeks.

Please pray for us as we spend our last 3 days with William.  We will hopefully see him again in October... but the leave is uncertain right now.

Up next... pictures from vacation!
