Happy Father's Day, Daddy

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

Sorry I can't be there this weekend... but I guess that's the cost of your little girl becoming a Mommy ;)

I tried to do the "Oooga Chaca" dance for Levi the other night... but I don't quite remember it.  Can you make a video and send it to him? Oh... and I read him Jillian Jiggs... because his room looked like it had been lived in by pigs... unfortunately it's our fault it looked like that... not his.  But one day it will be his fault I'm sure.

Love you... thanks for teaching me that Nothing is Impossible.

The Day I Threw Developmental Milestones Out the Window

Levi is 15 weeks old... 2 weeks and one day shy of 4 months.  It's a little early for solid foods by all standards. I know about all the debates... obesity vs. oral motor skills, sleeping through the night vs. child led weaning... and the list goes on. No, Levi hasn't doubled his birth weight yet... no, he can't sit up unsupported yet... No, he doesn't act interested in our food.  He does eat a ton though. We are creeping up on 34 ounces of formula a day... and let me tell you, they don't make bottles bigger than 9 ounces! But to be honest, our decision to let Levi eat oatmeal today was based on one thing...

We wanted to make a memory. And that makes it okay.
Mom, why are you sticking this thing in my mouth?
 Hmm... it's not so bad.
I changed my mind... I don't like it, okay?
OH crap... she's going to do it again.
Daddy, I thought you heard me say I didn't like it.
 Seriously? More?
See this face... it's the face of I DON'T LIKE IT.
This thing is freaking awesome though.
Maybe you should just let me do this myself... I'm seriously better at it than you.
What did I tell you... I can do it BY MYSELF!

In Memory of Thatcher Caleb

I laid awake many night praying for precious Thatcher before he was even born.  He fought hard for nearly 3 months and touched every life that heard his name and story in the process.  Please join me in donating to his memorial fund so that his parents can continue to bless others with their amazing faith in his name.

Thatcher,
You have a very special mommy and daddy.  I know they will miss you dearly. I'm so glad you don't have to fight anymore.  I bet you are singing at the top of your lungs with Jesus! Thanks for touching our lives.

15 weeks

Little monster is getting wiggly.... this was the only picture that wasn't blurry!

15 weeks but it's date night

William and I have been busy reading to Levi today as well as replacing the at least 10 light bulbs out at our house (seriously its like there was a mass murder of lightbulbs at our house!).

And now it's date night. I'll post Levi's official 15 week owl photos late tonight. Until then here are a few to hold you over.

Levi is really trying to sit up and maybe even crawl. He's a strong little guy. And he's pretty determined!! I can't wait until he can sit up. I feel like it will free him from the car seat (which i hate him being in) in so many situations.

William has been reading some books onto my phone so that I can play then for Levi over the coming months. We also went and made Levi a build a bear. It's a little army bear complete with dog tags and beret ( which is apparently outdated in military world now... So says William). We even got the bear a bear sized army tent to sleep in. Not that I think William will be sleeping in a tent, but I think Levi will have fun with it. We put it in its package at the top of Levi's closet... Not to be seen again until February 28, 2013. Levi's first birthday. Hopefully he will understand. Or maybe I should say hopefully he won't.

Anyways... For once in my life I'm trying not to countdown. I want the next 5 days to last forever. And on that note I'm off I enjoy some fondue with the best husband and daddy ever.
