An Untold Story from USNA Graduation

And then I saw this video that a friend posted.  I personally know a chemist that is blind.  She went to Wellesley with me and she is an AMAZING person.  She was born in Lebanon and her parents immigrated to America to save her life and give her a future.  When her culture said she would amount to nothing, her parents believed in her.  Wellesley's mantra is "Women Who Will" (and Do). She truly is one of these women.  I was Mona's lab aide in Inorganic Chem Lab. I may have been her eyes, but she was the brain. And let me tell you... that girl has no fear.  She may have broken a million and one test tubes, spilled chemicals all over both of us but she wasn't once afraid to do so and always learned something from it.  It was her way of experimenting.  She also laughed hysterically at herself and her mistakes, something everyone should be able to do. One time in the dining hall she put applesauce all over her salad (she had the salad bar memorized). When she got back to the table we all giggled and asked her why the heck she put applesauce on her lettuce.  She cracked up and said something like "I should probably stop eating salad".  She went and dumped it and started again not a bit of anger involved.

This video just goes to show you that so many others can be given the opportunity to excel in science even though you might think they aren't capable.

The Good Stuff

Babies laughing at their daddies

Drinking wine on the couch in the rain

The smell of a clean baby after a bath

Laying on your husbands chest while you drift off to sleep

Watching tv shows on streaming netflix

Not watering the lawn because it is pouring down rain

Cleaning out the garage together

Spending a month and a half living like there's no tomorrow

Yep... it's Tuesday

That means my little red haired angel is STILL a red head and he's really 14 weeks old!

He wasn't in a smiling mood today.  He wouldn't smile for our friends that came to visit or for these pictures.

But he was still cute either way. 

SUCH a sweet boy.  Poor thing wouldn't nap after his 5pm bottle.  He played hard.  Then just as I was getting his 8pm bottle ready he fell asleep in his Daddy's arms.  William was talking to him and walking him around... and all the sudden he says "Peyton, is he asleep" and I looked up and he was out! And of couse, sucking the DANG thumb. Good thing he's cute. 

Levi met his Great Great Uncle Owen this weekend.  Owen and Levi look surprisingly alike.  I guess that figures considering Levi doesn't look like anyone else. 

He had fun with his Nanna and Popi. 

Well Happy 14 weeks Levi.  You have melted my heart and you have officially melted your Daddy's too.  It's going to rip me apart watching him say good bye to you.  Even if the first time it's only for 40 days, then 107 days and then for 9 months. 

Levi loves his bouncer (and learns cause and effect)!

The pediatrician told us that Levi's head was strong enough for the bouncer... so we've used it a few times.  He pretty much loves it.  Just before I put him in it (prior to this video), he was screaming his head off.  He clearly changed his mind about whatever he was unhappy about.  We put the box under it so that he could put his feet all the way on something that way he's not "crotch dangling" as badly!

Playing cards

Williams family loves to play cards... Specifically canasta. So we started teaching him today. He won a game then lost a game. We are teaching him to be a fair loser as well. He cried a little but eventually decided to nap rather than keep fussing about it. We will keep working on it.
