11 weeks - No More Swaddle!!!

 Dear Levi,
This week you decided we are hilarious.  You absolutely come alive when we talk to you.  We love it.  You love to talk to everyone and have quite a giggle.  You like playing on your own with your toys.  I'm pretty sure you are attempting to see how hard you can simultaneously kick your legs and flap your arms at the same time.  You are grabbing things (like blankets and burp cloths) and pulling them into your mouth.  You chew on your hands and can slap at a hanging toy.  You still aren't rolling over... but we are trying to "teach" you.  It's going well... NOT. This week you started sleeping through the night.  No night feedings and you don't even wake us up for a diaper change.  We love 11 hours of you sleeping ;) You are also quite awake during the day and that's fine with me as long as you are happy.  And since you are only unhappy when you are hungry it's pretty nice.  Yesterday we walked up to Amigo's for dinner.  It was such a nice night and we sat on the patio with Aunt Jonna and Uncle Bryan.  You've proven that you will go to sleep no matter when we put you down... you just might cry for a few minutes (on average about 4 minutes), but that's okay with me! This week we also broke your last sleep prop.... no more swaddle! I'm thrilled it's gone... you were getting to strong for my swaddles and daddy is leaving soon!

We love you so much! Never stop being such an amazing little boy :)
Love, Mommy

Yep... 11 weeks later and these balloons are still standing!

Down By The Bay

Down by the bay

Where the watermelon grow
Back to my home

I dare not go
For if I do
My mother will say
Have you ever seen a whale

With a polka dotted tail

Down by the bay

Sleeping Through The Night

Yes, you read the subject right... HE DID IT! Last night Levi "slept through the night".  I mean for all intensive purposes (which are basically his mommy and daddy's purposes) he "slept" all night.  I opened my eyes this morning and realized it was light outside.  I checked the clock and it was 7am! I quickly turned on the video monitor to make sure he was still breathing.  He was.  He had moved around his bed quite a bit... so I know he "woke up" but he didn't make enough noise to wake me up... and that's all that matters right? Is it bad that I wanted to run in there and wake him up and tell him how happy I was?! I didn't... but I thought about it!

In other news, Levi and I went to Mom's Group on Tuesday and Levi played with his girlfriend Caitlyn.  She is 2 weeks older... He stared at her for a VERY  long time. It was pretty funny!

Also, Aunt Nicole came to visit Levi! We enjoyed her visit and I'm glad they got to meet!

Levi played ring toss during his nap today.  Can you do that in your sleep? He is quite talented.  Oh, and yes, I'm a horrible mother.  Let's just get it out in the open.  My son sleeps with a pillow (he's supposed to sleep ON it for his flat head... but instead throws it around the crib), has a crib bumper, and I let him cry it out (safely though, I'm always watching, and it's never more than 15 minutes although normally more like 3.5).  So I'm cruel and I cheat death with him every day right?? Thanks for informing me.

Bravo Levi

The past two nights Levi hasn't eaten in the middle of the night... he still wakes up... but no feeding!

This makes Mommy and Daddy VERY happy!

So, Levi, I challenge you to make it three nights... do you accept the challenge? Please say yes!
