Six Weeks Young

Dear Levi,
You are six weeks old today! Wow! I can hardly remember what life was like six weeks ago.  You had a good week this week.  You liked that every day you got to see your daddy in the evening.  You have started to fall into a fairly predictable routine, with the exception of a few blips here and there.  Still no sign of dropping the 3am feeding, but I'll let you hold on to it for two more weeks.  Your grandma came into town on Thursday evening and we took you to the doctor bright and early on Friday morning.  You weighed 10lbs. 8oz.  and were 22 inches long... so far you've gained 2lbs. 7 oz. and have grown 1 1/4 inches.  You are a big boy!! This week you also went shopping at the Galleria with "Aunt" Jenn and then shopping at Northpark with Grandma.  In both cases we decided Nordstrom is by far the best place to feed a baby in a mall... very classy :) You celebrated your first Easter by crying most of the morning due to a two day moratorium you had on napping.  I really don't suggest you try that again.  It makes you very crabby. Today daddy and I went to set up your college fund.  But I'm going to have to ask everyone reading this not to tell you it exists... because we aren't planning on telling you until you are at least 25 years old.  When you decide what you want to do with your life... then you can have the money :) You started smiling this week for REAL. I mean a real social smile... not just smiling while you are sleeping. You should see the antics I pull trying to make you smile. So far, you just do it on your own terms. Also today we went to our "First Moms" group.  It was fun to connect with a few women and babies and I can't wait to meet some more wonderful ladies! You met a pretty girl named Caitlin two weeks older than you... you can marry her if you want... but remember she's an older woman.

Can't wait to see what next week brings! I'm hoping and praying it's 6-8 hours of sleep straight :)

Love,
Your Mommy

During this week's photo shoot, we had a little bit of an issue...
Levi kept giving us this face...
And this face... And mom knows what that face means...
So we laid him down on the floor...
Because he likes to "do his business" lying flat on his back.
And then Daddy got to change his diaper!
(In this picture Daddy is telling him he stinks... and boy did he)
Then he took these pictures... He was very happy :)
Watch me try to eat my hand!
Hey you, I'm looking at YOU!
 Smiles!
 And I'm bored...

Levi Visits Houston

Here are some pictures of Levi's visit to Houston!

Five Weeks Photo

Dear Levi,
This week was quite an exciting one. On Wednesday we headed to Houston on your first road trip.  You got to meet your Aunt Dana, your Great-Grandma Robey, Cousin Lauren, Baby Noah, Great Grandma Sturdy and then loads and loads of Stephens-Bibbs-Dobbs-Nielsens... basically all of your great grandmother, Nana's family.  It was fun! Your daddy and I also went on our first date without you.  You stayed with your grandma (although this isn't the name you should call her... she just doesn't have one yet) and apparently threw your schedule out the window when you were with her.  As for milestones this week, your little grasp is getting very strong. You hold on to our shirts and your burp cloths.  You are still sleeping about the same, and I'm not complaining.  Im hoping by 8 weeks we can kick the middle of the night feeding.  No real smile yet, although I'm sure some of your relatives will protest this comment.  But they forget, I'm a SLP and I know how to evaluate these things... and you haven't smiled yet.  Just saying.  You spent some time in the Bumbo as well this week.  More specifically I put you in the Bumbo, and you pooped.  Of course. I think you are going to LOVE the Bumbo.  Only a few more weeks until you can use it unassisted.

Yesterday, on your 5 week birthday tornadoes ripped through the Dallas area.  It was very scary for your mommy to have to sit in the bathroom with you.  You didn't seem to care though, as you slept through most of it.

We love you so much! Happy Five Weeks Birthday!
Love, Mommy

He was pissed that I chose to take pictures before feeding him... whoops.
